KAITO WINSE

WUSHOGURI is een creatie van de Belgisch-Burkineese artiest Kaito Winse. De voorstelling is geïnspireerd op de West-Afrikaanse spirituele betekenis van het ei en de traditie van zandlezen in Burkina Faso. De voorstelling gaat van documentaire naar een vrolijke trance en neemt je mee op een reis waar culturen, muziek en dans samenkomen. In WUSHOGURI combineert Kaito traditionele en hedendaagse dans, lyrische zang en de liederen van West-Afrikaanse griots. Voeg daar draailier, mondboog, elektronische muziek, Afro- en hedendaagse dans aan toe en je krijgt een voorstelling die de eeuwenoude traditie van verhalen vertellen op een nieuwe manier verkent. De work in progress onthult de eerste drie delen van deze Afro-dans.

WUSHOGURI is a creation by the Belgian-Burkinabe artist Kaito Winse. The performance is inspired by the West African spiritual significance of the egg and the tradition of sand reading in Burkina Faso. The show flows from documentary to joyful trance, taking you on a journey where cultures, music and dance converge. In WUSHOGURI, Kaito combines traditional and contemporary dance, lyrical singing, and the songs of West African griots. Adding a hurdy-gurdy, mouth bow, electronic music, Afro and contemporary dance, you get a performance that explores the ancient tradition of storytelling in a new way. This ‘Work In Progress Session’ reveals the first three parts of this Afro-dance project.
